If Olimpia Milano is targeting Erazem Lorbek for the next season, Mens Sana Siena is working as well to shape the roster for the year 2012-13. The perennial Italian champions, as reported by Chema De Lucas of Solobasket.com, are targeting both Daniel Hackett and Petteri Koponen. The Finnish combo guard's contract will expire in the summer and he often said that he would love to step up and Siena would be the ideal destination. Daniel Hackett is one of the best Italian players in Serie A and would help both Bo McCalebb and Petteri Koponen in PG and SG position. According to Chema de Lucas, the two deals are already done. Siena will bring back Kristjan Kangur too. The Estonian forward was signed to a 3-year contract last summer and sent on loan to Cimberio Varese.
UPDATE Daniel Hackett's agent, Mario Scotti, denied to Sportando the rumor about Siena interested in the Italian International: 'Mens Sana has never contacted us'.
