Venezuelan team Guaros de Lara, after the signing of former NBA Smush Parker, made an important offer for Allen Iverson.
The negotiations with Greg Moore, Iverson's agent, are going further and the offer is better than the one from Indios de Mayaguez, the Puerto Rican team interested in A.I, according to the Venezuelan team.
"We are competing with a Puerto Rican team for Allen Iverson. There is a big chance for us to land him" said Jorge Hernandez, owner of Guaros de Lara, to El Nacional. "Our offer to the player is very imporant but we are not revealing it until the deal is close. All the coaching staff is excited to have Allen Iverson in the roster" added Hernandez.
The Venezuelan team also signed another former NBA player, Reece Gaines. The player, selected by the Orlando Magic in 2003 NBA draft with the 15th overall, has played two games in Austria this season with BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers averaging 13.5ppg and 5.5rpg.
