As reported on Twitter by Italian journalist Davide Chinellato, Noel Biderman is expecting a final answer from Virtus Roma about the sponsorship of the team before Friday. The founder of AshleyMadison.com, the website who would finance the operation and bring Andrea Bargnani to Virtus Roma during the NBA lockout will leave Italy in two days.
Virtus Roma has a board scheduled for later today and Biderman, who has been also sports agent with Interperformances, said that it is now up to the club to accept his proposal or not. The big question is ethical because AshleyMadison.com is the world's leading married dating service for discreet encounters.
He also confirmed that Andrea Bargnani is trying to solve his insurance issues but he is open to play with Virtus Roma, the only team he is considering if he leaves NBA.
Bargnani is a Roma native and started playing basket in the Italian capital with Stella Azzurra before moving to Benetton Treviso. Later today or tomorrow, Virtus Roma might give an answer to Biderman.
AshleyMadison.com has also ready the new Virtus Roma jerseys for the season.
UPDATE: We have the chance to talk with Noel Biderman. He is optmistic about the deal and so far, just the signing of Claudio Toti, owner of Virtus Roma, is missing. Another hurdle is still the insurance. Andrea Bargnani did not solve yet the problem of covering his entire contract with Toronto Raptors who worth $42M.
